grein is a collaborative project between Aaron Michael Smith & Jay Rauch, multi-instrumentalists collaborating over a distance, living in Boston and Pittsburgh respectively. Their work explores geological structures of time that form and coalesce through iterative improvisation.

Not to be a noyse made of men, but rather a bleating of bruite beasts; a sort of Colts; a company of oxen; bark, as it were a kennel of Dogs; rore like a sort of Bulls; grunt as it were a number of Hogs. A fould evil favoured noyse is made.
